Air-Boss 2800 V Series PMA Direct drive permanent magnet alternators for direct drive wind turbines.The useful range of Air-Boss series permanent magnet alternators (PMA) overcomes several barriers typically found in wind turbine generators, small wind turbines, and windmill alternators. Barriers such as cut in/cut out speeds, useful voltage ranges, and power to weight ratios have been overcome with the Air-Boss PMA. Small wind turbine designers, experimenters, home owners, and alternative energy enthusiast can all benefit from the versatile design and performance characteristics of the Air-Boss 2800 series PMA. Using direct drives and advanced composite materials the Air-Boss PMA delivers efficient power, without gear boxes, with a high power to weight ratio.
The ranges of the Air-Boss permanent magnet alternators are available in six different models in both single and dual stator designs. The Air-Boss PMA stator design incorporates proprietary designs that virtually illuminate all cogging typically found in other windmill alternators, small wind turbines, and wind turbine generators.
When coupled with The Seasonal Efficiency Turbine Switch (SETS; Coming Soon), a proprietary electronic control designed by American Energy Research Company Inc., the Air-Boss 2800 series PMA can be made to incorporate multiple “on the fly” configuration switching. The S.E.T.S. allows the user to control output at various average wind conditions. This switching increases the RPM versus Voltage operational envelope by approximately 100% increasing the efficiency of any wind turbine, when coupled with the Air-Boss dual stator PMA, with respect to seasonal wind averages over seasonal changes.
